1994 — Awarded the 1994 Log Homes Council President’s Award “for continued contributions to the Grading Program and other industry issues. The award is annually given to the individual who has given the most to improve the Council and the industry.”

1995 — Awarded the Real Log Homes Sales Award presented at the National Sales Meeting for Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to the 1995 Planbook Project.

1993-1998 — Chairman of the Log Homes Council Log Grading Program.

1998-2000 — Chairman of the Log Homes Council Technical Committee.

1997-2001 — Member of the Log Homes Council Steering Committee (revolving through chairs of Secretary, Treasurer, VP, and 2001 President).

2001 — Formed RobPickett &Associates; moved back to Hartland, VT.   Became certified as LHC Log Grading Program Quality Supervisory Agent.

2002 — Awarded the 2002 Log Homes Council President’s Award “for his career contribution and management talent with the Technical and Grading Committees of the Log Homes Council. Thanks to Rob’s insight and direction, the industry continues to improve the finish quality of our solid wood homes while educating buyers and code officials nationwide.”

Awarded the 2002 Log Homes Council Innovator Award “for his outstanding contribution and direction with the Log Homes Council Technical Committee and the Strategic Plan.”

2004Awarded the 2004 Log Homes Council President’s Award “for representing the log home industry in drafting the Log Construction Standard of the International Code Council.” Co-recipients included Joe Folker of Kuhns Bros. Log Homes, Ed Burke of the University of Montana, and Mark Hope of Timber Products Inspection.

2006Formed TimberLogic LLC, formerly Timber Technology Network, with Alex Charvat, P.E. and Ed Burke, PhD.  The organization offers design tools, such as span tables, materials testing, product evaluations, and more.

2003-2007Chair, ICC Consensus Committee on Log Structures (IS-LOG) charged with the development of ICC 400-2007, Standard on the Design and Construction of Log Structures.

2008 — Earned the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation, identifying him as someone with knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes.

Represented the Log Homes Council in the development (2007-’08) of the NAHB-ICC 700-2008 National Green Building Standard (NGBS).

Accredited as an NAHB Green Building Program Verifier (#047).

2007-2010 — Founding President, ICC Building Safety Association of Vermont (www.buildsafevt.org)

2010-2011Chair, ICC Consensus Committee on Log Structures (IS-LOG) charged with the developing ICC 400-2012, Standard on the Design and Construction of Log Structures.

2012 — Earned the Master Certified Green Professional (MCGP) designation.  The CGP/Master CGP program is administered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) University of Housing and the Home Builders & Remodelers of New Hampshire (HBRANH).

Awarded the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of New Hampshire Associate Member of the Year.

2008 to Present — Charter Member, Steering Committee, Treasurer, NHHBA Build Green NH Council.

2010 to 2013 — Board of Directors, ICC Building Safety Association of Vermont (www.buildsafevt.org).

2012 to 2017 Serving on the Board of Directors, Connecticut Valley Home Builders Association; President in 2014.

2013 to Present — Earned the Master Certified Green Professional (MCGP) designation from the Green Building Designations Board of Governors, NAHB.

2015 — Awarded the 2015 S.A. Walters Award for Systems-Built Achievement.
